The Grand River Lifeboat – Centre for Water Excellence

Wellington Water Watchers feels inspired to create a World Class demonstration/conversation centre of “best practices” for water conservation, restoration and protection at the projected Yorklands Green Hub. This living building will embody the essence of “how to design with your watershed in mind” both indoors and out, at home and across communities. Housing educational resources for the lay person, academic or policy maker alike, this centre will embody a watershed approach to planning and design exploring our functional water needs as well as our connections emotionally and spiritually to our lifeblood. Amidst uncertainty about future weather patterns, the Grand River Lifeboat will remind us that our watershed houses everything we need to thrive! We are seeking both funds and in-kind services to make this vision a reality.
