The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) seeks to connect present and future generations of Canadians with the history of the Underground Railroad by mobilizing youth across Guelph and Wellington. Our aim is to provide culturally diverse youth with the opportunities to build leadership skills through creative expression. We want youth to inspire their peers through public speaking, artistic presentations and playing an active role in the GBHS to advance diversity, social justice and the lessons of history. We plan to create a toolkit for schools that youth can launch and present during Black History Month (BHM) and beyond.
