Our goal as new young farmers (we are 24 and 25) is to operate our Certified Organic Farm (Zócalo Organics) as a social enterprise- providing benefits for ecology and community. We purchased our farm, located between Guelph and Hillsburgh, in June 2014 with the help of friends and community members who believe in our vision. We have outlined our priorities for establishing ourselves at the farm, and for 2015- in addition to building a walk-in fridge, housing for farm workers, and a walk-behind tractor (all of which are well underway) - we require an upgrade of the current irrigation system so that we can increase our production of Organic Produce!
