Popular theatre is a grass roots technique with the potential to empower participants and audience to make positive changes in their lives. I'll work with teenagers and parents of teenagers in separate groups over a ten-week period to teach them to create scenes which include audience participation, based on their personal issues. After ten weeks of honing their skills and their scenes, they will present them publicly over two evenings. I will need an open space to work in two evenings per week, money to advertise for participants and to invite the public to attend, and a professional allowance.
